Dear All,
We are holding a two-day symposium on the 12th and 13th of September as a tribute to the career and work of Barry Osmond. If I have seen further it is by standing on ye sholders of Giants.” – Sir Isaac Newton. Barry is a former Director of RSBS and played an immense role in the careers of many current and former RSB staff and students. Scientifically, his research has impacted different fields and technologies, reflected in Barry being a Fellow of both the Royal Society and the Australian Academy of Science, and he is still publishing in 2019.
Symposia will cover CAM, C4, engineering enhanced photosynthesis, photoinhibition and light reactions, photoprotection and retrograde signalling, chlorophyll fluorescence and isotopes. Our plenary speakers include Eva-Mari- Aro, Finland; Joe Berry, USA; Steve Powells, Australia; Joe Holtum, Australia; Shizue Matsubara, Germany; Ichiro Terashima, Japan; William Adams, USA; Murray Badger, Australia, Min Chen, Australia.
Please can I ask you to register as soon as possible to aid with our catering and program planning and to register a request to speak or present a poster. The conference committee has raised some funds for the meeting, and as a consequence there will be no registration fee, most meals included (excluding the conference dinner, which will be subsided).
